Referrals
A valid referral from a Doctor (Medical) is required to claim
Medicare benefits.
Referrals valid for:
GP to Specialist
12 months
Specialist to Specialist
3 months
Referrals cannot be backdated (Illegal)
What to Bring / Preparation
Doctor’s referral letter
Maternal & Child Health Book (if young child)
NO antihistamines for 5 days prior
(interferes with skin prick testing)
No creams to upper back for 2 days prior.
Keep using normal creams to rest of body
Bring any food that you think may be causing the allergy.
(especially if fruit or vegetables)
Bring any phographs / images of any rash, swelling, lump etc
Payment
Cash, Credit card (Visa MasterCard only), cheque
A receipt will be issued at the time of payment to
enable a Medicare Claim
A Medicare online claim can be made if you have given
